Steward's Report
Umar Allen was quick to begin. Roman Blue Jay and Klondike Gold were slow to begin. Jackie Jai and Spring Shower collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. One More Page and Umar Allen collided on the home turn. Our Flying Laura and Umar Allen collided in the home straight. Klondike Gold and Spring Shower collided approaching the winning post. Vanderville and Jackie Jai collided approaching the winning post.
Roman Blue Jay was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a minor abrasion to the right hind paw. A stand down period of 3 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Blake, the representaive of the greyhound Roman Blue Jay regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Roman Blue Jay with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Blake pleaded guilty to the charge, Roman Blue Jay was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
