Meil's Girl, Fancy Francene and Zipping Winnie collided on the first turn. Neil's Girl and Fancy Francene collided approaching the second turn. Tahlia's Diamond and Cinnamon Rose collided approaching the second turn. Tahlia's Diamond, Cinnamon Rose, Neil's Girl, Fancy Francene, Why Not Kez, Special Drop and La Vagabonde collided on the second turn severely checking Tahlia's Diamond, Special Drop and La Vagabonde. Neil's Girl, Fancy Francene and Why Not Kez collided approaching the home turn. La Vagabonde clipped the heels of Neil's Girl on the home turn. Tahlia's Diamond and Special Drop collided entering the home straight. La Vagabonde marred Why Not Kez in the home straight.
Why Not Kez underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound on the top of the hind toe. No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Jones, the trainer of La Vagabonde regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) La Vagabonde was charged with marring. Mr. Jones pleaded guilty to the charge, La Vagabonde is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
The incorrect race number was displayed on the semaphore board due to a technical malfunction.
A post-race sample was taken from Cinnamon Rose, winner of the event.
