A pre-race sample was taken from Bluegrass Icon.
Moonie Cyclone, Diamond Bling and Winlock Ludacris were slow to begin.
Diamong Bling checked off Kissable approaching the first turn. Popowski and Moonie Cyclone collided on the first turn. Cee Me Ignite, Frost Us and Bluegrass Icon collided on the first turn, severely checking Frost Us, Bluegrass Icon, Kissable and Winlcok Ludacris; Frost Us and Bluegrass Icon stumbled and Winlock Ludacris pulled up as a result. Moonie Cyclone and Diamond Bling collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn, checking Moonie Cyclone. Popowski and Moonie Cyclone collided several times in the home straight, checking both greyhounds; Popowski contacted the running rail as a result.
Popowski underwent a post- race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained injuries to both deltoid muscles. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Winlock Ludacris underwent a post- race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a left cruciate ligament injury. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
