Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Sooky Jooky.
Kiwi Al and Jesaulenko were slow to begin. Sooky Jooky, Maverick Typhoon, Kiwi Al and Mi Blue Day collided approaching the first turn checking Kiwi Al and Mi Blue Day. Lemonade Kid veered out and marred the running of Jesaulenko in the home straight.
Mi Blue Day was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle muscle injury and an abraded paw pad/webbing, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Lemonade Kid was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Gieschen, the trainer of Lemonade Kid regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) Lemonade Kid was charged with marring. Mrs. Gieschen pleaded guilty to the charge, Lemonade Kid is suspended for 28 days at Sale and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
