Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Crackerjack Ward, engaged in this event, on 4 March 2019 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Stewards spoke to Ms Nicole Bailey, the trainer of Rocket Express, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Rocket Express last raced on 2 December 2018. Mr Bailey stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left hock injury.
A pre-race sample was taken from Praise Me.
Inter Phillip and Why Not Kaleb were quick to begin. Cheeky Vixen were slow to begin. Opening Bid and Inter Phillip collided on the first turn. Fab Creates checked off the heels of Crackerjack Ward on the first turn. Crackerjack Ward and Rocket Express collided several times on the first turn and again approaching the home turn, both greyhounds raced wide as a result. Opening Bid checked off the heels of Inter Phillip approaching the home turn. Praise Me and Crackerjack Ward collided heavily on the home turn. Praise Me checked off the heels of Rocket Express in the home straight.
