Steward's Report
Christopher Jaensch, trainer of Exceptionable, declared a new weight of 32.7 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39 (2). Exceptionable last raced at 30.9 kgs.
A pre-race sample was taken from Belle Express.
Smooth Onyx was quick to begin. Mepunga Spectre was slow to begin. El Chappo was very slow to begin (4L). Smooth Onyx, Belle Express and Maximum Lisa collided on the first turn. Vroom Vroom and Consider It Done collided on the first turn. Mepunga Spectre and Exceptionable collided on the first turn, checking Mepunga Spectre. El Chappo shifted out and faltered on the first turn. Vroom Vroom and Consider It Done collided several times approaching the home turn. El Chappo faded and tailed off in the home straight.
El Chappo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg groin injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Belinda Glen, the handler of the greyhound El Chappo. Stewards deemed the performance of El Chappo unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that El Chappo must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
