A pre-race sample was taken from Too Easy Jack.
Claim, Fonzarelli and Tickle Me Fancy were quick to begin. Claim and Don's Scolari collided soon after the start. Claim checked off the heels of Don's Scolari soon after the start. Kraken Jonny and Origami Angel collided on the first turn. Don's Scolari and Too Easy Jack collided on the first turn. Kraken Jonny and Fonzarelli collided on the home turn. Kraken Jonny and Fonzarelli collided several times in the home straight. Kraken Jonny raced ungenerously, shifted in and colided with Fonzarelli in the home straight. Kraken Jonny and Too Easy Jack collided approaching the winning post.
Kraken Jonny was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a tear to the left hindleg triangle, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Claim was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained right foreleg shoulder joint and right hindleg triangle injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs Helen Hartigan, the handler of the greyhound Kraken Jonny. Stewards deemed the performance of Kraken Jonny unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Kraken Jonny must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
