Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Coyote, engaged in this event, on 4 March 2019 pursuant to GAR 79A.
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Solar Life, a post-race sample was subsequently taken.
Race 3 was delayed due to the starting boxes being unable to be removed from the track after race 2. The issue was remediated by the Course Electrician. Race 3 commenced at 4:35 pm. Race 4 was rescheduled to 4:50 pm.
Crymelon You Cro was quick to begin. Tonking Home and Coyote were slow to begin. Tonking Home and Coyote collided soon after the start. Crymelon You Cro and Solar Life collided soon after the start. Goofey Express and Floppy Joe collided soon after the start. Solar Life checked off the heels of Brakae on the first turn, checking Brakae. Goofey Express checked off the heels of Rampage Luke on the home turn. Crymelon You Cro and Solar Life collided in the home straight. Solar Life galloped on Crymelon You Cro in the home straight. Coyote faded in the home straight.
Goofey Express was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg sesamoid injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Tonking Home was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg groin injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.
Coyote was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Ward, the kennel representative of Coyote. Stewards deemed the performance of Coyote unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Coyote must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A sample was taken from Rampage Luke - the winner of the event.
