Steward's Report
Ms B. Berry, trainer of Laile Brobio declared a new weight of 30.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Laile Brobio last raced at 28.9kgs.
The outside temperature at race start time was 26.4 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 21.0 degrees.
A pre-race sample was taken from Positive Gearing.
Laile Brobio and Noonbarra Jack were slow to begin.
Bintang Bullet, Positive Gearing and Dyna Frankie collided soon after the start. Kraken Roger and Locked In collided on the first turn, checking Kraken Roger and Laile Brobio. Bintang Bullet checked off Laile Brobio approaching the home turn. Positive Gearing, Dyna Frankie and Noonbarra Jack collided on the home turn, causing Noonbarra Jack to race wide. Positive Gearing and Dyna Frankie collided in the home straight. Positive Gearing and Dyna Frankie collided approaching the winning post. Dyna Frankie turned it's head and eased approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr Shaun Coulson, the representative for the greyhound Dyna Frankie regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Dyna Frankie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle and a spike wound to the left hind leg, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), stewards charged Dyna Frankie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Coulson pleaded not guilty to the charge, Dyna Frankie was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
