Punch Out, Big Fat Goalie and Double Birdy collided soon after the start checking Big Fat Goalie. Golden Moon and Janray Rastus collided approaching the first turn. Punch Out and Double Birdy collided approaching the first turn. Golden Moon and Janray Rastus collided on the first turn checking Golden Moon which collided with You Jager. Punch Out clipped the heels of Double Birdy on the home turn.

Manila Mist was very slow to begin (4L).

Yandi and Keybey collided soon after the start. Why Not Dean and Saucy Sav collided approaching the first turn checking Why Not Dean. Keybey and Saucy Sav collided approaching the first turn. Yandi, Manila Mist, Keybey and Saucy Sav collided on the first turn severely checking Yandi and Swahili Icon. Why Not Dean, Manila Mist and Saucy Sav collided approaching the home turn. Why Not Dean and Manil Mist collided on the home turn. Saucy Sav raced wide entering the home straight. Keybey tired over the concluding stages. 

Keybey was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Scott Confused - the winner of the event.

Ms S. Greening, trainer of Doc Nam declared a new weight of 32.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Doc Nam last raced at 31.5kgs.

A pre race sample was taken from Major Gas.

Tat Loxy and Jack's On Deck collided soon after the start checking Tat Loxy. Compsognathus brushed the running rail approaching the first turn and lost ground as a result. Jack's On Deck and Major Gas collided approaching the first turn checking Compsognathus. Doc Nam and Compsognathus collided approaching the home turn checking Compsognathus. Chillby and Compsognathus collided on the home turn. She's A Rebel raced wide on the home turn and entering the home straight.

Compsognathus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured left scapula, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Tat Loxy - the winner of the event.

Shania Cabang, Rapana and Arlecchino collided soon after the start. Cash Or Card and Shania Cabang collided approaching the first turn. Lava Lamp clipped the heels of Cash Or Card approaching the first turn severely checking Lava Lamp. Lava Lamp, Rapana and Arlecchino collided on the first turn checking Lava Lamp and severely checking Rapana. Cash Or Card and Shania Cabang collided on the home turn. 

Rapana was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right metacarpal fracture, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Cullquin Dario was slow to begin. Cullquin dario and Dana Kadi collided on the first turn checking Cullquin Dario. Split Chic lost ground approaching the second turn. Hua Hin, Sneaky Pickle and Ivalise Allen collided approaching the third turn and on the third turn. Cullquin Dario and Happy Tails collided in the home straight. Split Chic raced wide in the home straight. 

Split Chic was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left carpal sprain, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Ivalise Allen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained splilt webbing on the left hock, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Hua Hin - the winner of the event.

Crackerjack Roy was a late scratching at 5:25pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a laceration on the left shoulder. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Hardy's Banjo was a late scratching at 5:57pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a papilloma on the left hind foot. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Maximum Lara was a late scratching at 6:02pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to dehydration. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Galway Icon was slow to begin. Tat Ox was very slow to begin (3L). Mr. Vinnie and All Revved Up collided soon after the start. Hammer Red and All Revved Up collided approaching the home turn checking All Revved Up. 

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Nut And Bolt engaged in this event on 21 January, 2019 pursuant to GAR 79A.

A pre race sample was taken from Sunlit Breaker.

Lily The Weapon and Dyna Kerro collided soon after the start. Giant Bale faltered approaching the first turn. Rellim Diesel and Dyna Kerro raced wide in the home straight. 

Giant Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left hip injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Brave Hearted was a late scratching at 6:10pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to elevated temperature. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Pizza Shop.

Twilight Shae and Better Way collided soon after the start severely checking Better Way which lost ground as a result. What Bill, Lorella and Pizza Shop collided approaching the first turn checking Lorella. What Bill, Pizza Shop and Twilight Shae collided on the first turn checking Twilight Shae. What Bill, Pizza Shop and Atomic Icon collided approaching the home turn checking Pizza Shop. What Bill and Atomic Icon collided on the home turn. Lorella raced wide in the home straight.

Better Way was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising to the left foreleg and a spike wound to the right hind paw, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Titanium Bolt - the winner of the event.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Aston Hazard, a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Kraken Maxi went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Mia Armour was slow to begin. Luka's Choice and Tat Nuggie collided approaching the first turn checking Luka's Choice. Kraken Maxi and Mia Amour collided on the first turn checking Kraken Maxi. Wendy Maria clipped the heels of Liberal Jones on the home turn. Wendy Maria and Annaley Flash raced wide in the home straight. Annaley Flash and Aston Hazard collided approaching the winning post. 

Kraken Maxi was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Madonya and Big Barra were quick to begin. Keisha's Boy and Little Red Hot collided soon after the start. Hello Cobber, Madonya and Keisha's Boy collided approaching the first turn checking Keisha's Boy. Keisha's Boy clipped the heels of Hello Cobber on the first turn checking Keisha's Boy. Hello Cobber raced wide entering the home straight. Keisha's Boy raced wide in the home straight.

Mr G. Connell, trainer of Stylish Chief declared a new weight of 34.1kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Stylish Chief last raced at 32.9kgs.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this event was deemed Heat Affected. The outside temperature before race 12 was 25.5 degrees, the inside kennel temperature was 18.1 degrees and the humidity was 56.2%.

Zefron and Little Dynamo collided soon after the start checking Zefron. Stylish Chief, Clovally Mansumi and All Inn Youi approaching the first turn checking Stylish Chief. Stylish Chief, Just Teefa and Kingsley Boy collided on the first turn checking Just Teefa. Clovally Mansumi tired over the concluding stages.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results (Blinkers) - Lonesome Sam trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 31.0kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.12, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 12.75 lengths. Lonesome Sam was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr B.Fothergill, the trainer of Waikiki Creek regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Waikiki Creek last raced on 8.10.18. Mr Fothergill stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after being unretired. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Waikiki Creek trialled over the 390m from box 8, weight 27.2kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.12, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 10.25 lengths. Waikiki Creek was Cleared.
