Steward's Report
Winsome Express was quick to begin. Sisco Dun and Tyche Diamond were slow to begin.
Weetbix Bites and Colorado collided soon after the start checking Colorado. Colorado and Sweet Sparkle collided on the first turn checking Sweet Sparkle. Weetbix Bites, Colorado and Dyna Garner collided on the second turn checking Dyna Garner. Tyche Diamond checked off Dyna Garner on the second turn. Weetbix Bites and Dyna Garner collided in the back straight checking Dyna Garner. Tyche Diamond checked off Weetbix Bites in the back straight causing Tyche Diamond to lose ground and pull up as a result. Weetbix Bites checked off Colorado in the home straight.
Tyche Diamond was vetted following the event. It was reported that the there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr G James, the representative of the greyhound Tyche Diamond regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the back straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Tyche Diamond with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr James pleaded guilty to the charge, Tyche Diamond was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Seaside Shuffle - the winner of the event.
