The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Calendar Boy and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 5:54 PM due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. C. Hughes was fined the sum of $100.
Lektra Viki was quick to begin. Jacobite Joseph was slow to begin.
Con Rod and Falconetti collided soon after the start, checking Falconetti. Con Rod and Boston Quay collided approaching the first turn, checking Con Rod and So Amazing. Jacobite Joseph checked off Falconetti on the first turn. Boston Quay checked off Thomeli Rocket approaching the home turn. Falconetti checked off So Amazing on the home turn. Thomeli Rocket faltered entering the home straight and subsequently tailed off.
Thomeli Rocket was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
