Solar On, Brinza and Mustang Bay collided soon after the start, checking Brinza and Mustang Bay. Lush Life checked off Go Barny Go approaching the first turn. Go Barny Go checked off Sanya Bay on the first turn, checking Brinza and Mustang Bay. Go Barny Go checked off Brinza on the home turn. Solar On and Mustang Bay collided in the home straight, checking Solar On.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) -
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Taylor, the trainer of Talanjee Chief regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Talanjee Chief last raced on 3 July 18. Mr Taylor stated that the greyhound was returning to racing folowing a toe injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Talanjee Chief trialled over the 450m from box 5, weight 28.0kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 25.44 the greyhound beaten by a margin of 4.5L. Talanjee Chief was cleared.

Kinmoss Brave trialled over the 450m from box 8, weight 33.7kgs the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 25.44, the greyhound won by a margin of 4.5L. Kinmoss Brave was cleared.
