Steward's Report
Mrs K. Minne, trainer of Hashtag Spolly declared a new weight of 35.1kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Hashtag Spolly last raced at 33.4kgs.
The outside temperature at race start time was 28.2 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 18.8 degrees.
A pre-race sample was taken from Destiny's Child.
Hurricane Billie was slow to begin.
Destiny's Child and Gypsy Kiowa collided soon after the start. Hurricane Billie crossed in approaching the first turn checking Spectator and Mt. View Gift. Spectator and Hashtag Spolly collided on the first turn. Destiny's Child and Mt. View Gift collided approaching the home turn. Gypsy Kiowa, Bye Bye Brad and Hurricane Billie collided approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mrs V. Sultana, the trainer of the greyhound Hurricane Billie regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Hurricane Billie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a mild abrasion to the left thigh, no stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Hurricane Billie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs Sultana pleaded not guilty to the charge, Hurricane Billie was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
