Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Pierce Bale.
Reign Of Omar, Zipping Bolt, Pierce Bale and Mr. Moonlight were slow to begin.
Where's Lola and Reign Of Omar collided entering the back straight. Where's Lola and Reign Of Omar collided on the third turn checking Reign Of Omar. Full Of Weetbix raced wide approaching the third turn to approaching the home turn forcing Zipping Bolt to race wider.
Stewards spoke to Mrs B. Breen, the trainer of the greyhound Full Of Weetbix regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the turn off the back straight. Full Of Weetbix was vetted and re-vetted following race 10. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left sesamoid injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Full Of Weetbix with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs Breen pleaded guilty to the charge. Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Sarah Smirnoff was vetted following the event at the trainers request. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
