Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Gypsy Shane.
Blackpool Floss was quick to begin. Teacup Toni, Cawbourne Mav and Red Neck Miss was slow to begin. Cawbourne Mav and Red Neck Miss collided soon after the start, checking Cawbourne Miss. Dad's Nitro, Peggy Grand and Zoehanna Diva collided on the first turn, checking Peggy Grand. Dad's Nitro galloped on the heels of Zoehanna Diva approaching the home turn, checking Zoehanna Diva and severely checking Dad's Nitro. Cawbourne Mav marred the running of Gyspy Shane in the home straight, checking Zoehanna Diva and severely checking Gypsy Shane.
Cawbourne Mav was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Ms Lisa Farquhar, the trainer of the greyhound Cawbourne Mav regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Cawbourne Mav with marring. Ms Farquhar pleaded guilty to the charge, Cawbourne Mav was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
