Steward's Report
Mr. D. Crawford the trainer of Navajo Bear declared a new weight of 33.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Navajo Bear last raced at 32.0kg.
My Alibi, Eau Rouge and Navajo Bear were slow to begin. Navajo Bear and Lucky Tetris collided soon after the start. Mahjong Magic and Marcello collided on the first turn. My Alibi and Eau Rouge collided on the first turn checking My Alibi. Mahjong Magic eased from the home turn to entering the home straight checking Marcello. Ear We Come and Navajo Bear collided on the home turn checking Lucky Tetris and Navajo Bear. Eau Rouge failed to pursue the lure with due committment on the home turn. Mahjong Magic and Eau Rouge collided in the home straight. Navajo Bear raced wide in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Ms. M. Mayle the representative for Eau Rouge regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Eau Rouge was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 9, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to both monkey muscles, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Eau Rouge with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Ms. Mayle plead guilty to the charge, Eau Rouge was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
