Latissimus Dorsi was slow to begin. Nicky Jo went up with the lids at box rise.
Sandy Lagoon and Princess Parker collided approaching the first turn. Sandy Lagoon checked off See Ya Mate approaching the first turn, severely checking Nicky Jo. See Ya Mate failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight and collided with Lily Boswell.
Nicky Jo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right sartorius (pencil) muscle. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr John Mangion, the trainer of the greyhound See Ya Mate, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. See Ya Later was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to a left front toe, a five-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged See Ya Mate with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Mangion pleaded guilty to the charge, See Ya Mate was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
