Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Tomal.
Manila Sprite and Travel Easy were slow to begin and collided soon after the start, checking Tomal.
Wild Bandit and Miss Glenngarry collided at the 300m mark. Master Winslow, Miss Glenngarry and Wild Bandit collided at the 250m mark, checking Wild Bandit and Miss Glenngarry. Sutton Zoe eased approaching the winning post.
Miss Glenngarry was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right biceps femoris (thigh) muscle. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.
Sutton Zoe was vetted, and revetted following event seven. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to Ms Jennifer Thorpe, the trainer of the greyhound Sutton Zoe, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Sutton Zoe with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Thorpe pleaded guilty to the charge, Sutton Zoe was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
