Stewards spoke to Ms Jennifer Thorpe, the trainer of the greyhound Sutton Zoe, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Sutton Zoe with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Thorpe pleaded guilty to the charge, Sutton Zoe was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr John Delaroche, trainer of Cousin's Choice, declared a new weight of 32.8kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Cousin's Choice last raced at 31.5kg.

Lady Nina was very slow to begin (4L).

Buddie's Al crossed to the outside soon after the start. Aztec Warrior and Cousin's Choice collided at the 50m mark, checking Cousin's Choice. Just Over and Cousin's Choice collided approaching the winning post, severely checking both greyhounds.

Cousin's Choice was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right long head triceps (monkey) and latissimus dorsi muscles. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

Keisha's Boy, Bruree Boy and Octo Flash were slow to begin.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Belivet and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 10:49AM due to weight variation - underweight -2.3kg (GAR 39). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr Kenneth Kubik was fined the sum of $100.

Satisfactory Whelping Trial Results - Paua To Avoid trialled over the 300m from box one, weight 31.2kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 16.84, the greyhound won by a margin of 0.75L. Paua To Avoid was cleared.
