In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 37.0 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.0 degrees.

When the greyhounds were retrieved for this event the kennel temperature was 19.0 degrees.

Stewards spoke to Mr S. White after the greyhound Elfstar was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. Mr White was issued with a warning and reminded when kennelling he ensures greyhounds are kennelled in accordance with kennel procedure. 

Stewards spoke to kennel attendant, Ms W. Songsin after the greyhound Elfstar was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. Ms Songsin was issued with a warning and asked to ensure that all greyhounds are correctly kennelled in future. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration.

Friday Frothies and Zipping Buffy were slow to begin.

Dex's Affair and Libby's Dream collided soon after the start.  Dr. Cadenza checked off Dex's Affair approaching the first turn.  Zipping Buffy checked off Mahi Indian approaching the first turn.  Dex's Affair and Zambora Andy collided entering the back straight and again on the third turn checking Zambora Andy and Mahi Indian, causing Mahi Indian to brush the running rail.  Zipping Buffy and Friday Frothies collided approaching the home turn checking Friday Frothies.  Mahi Indian and Zipping Buffy collided several times in the home straight.  

Friday Frothies was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left fore and hind feet and a spike wound to the left hind foot, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Sunny's Kayo was slow to begin.  Straitline Willy and Dashing Dino were slow to begin.

Sunny's Kayo and Nicmac Paddywack collided soon after the start.  Water Colour checked off Nicmac Paddywack on the first turn checking Pandora's Proof and Pagan Dancer.  Straitline Willy and Water Colour collided in the front straight.  Water Colour checked off Pagan Dancer approaching the second turn.  Straitline Willy and Water Colour collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds.  Pandora's Proof checked off Sunny's Kayo approaching the third turn.  Pagan Dancer and Nicmac Paddywack collided on the fourth turn.  Water Colour checked off Dashing Dino approaching the home turn.  Water Colour and Dashing Dino collided in the home straight.

Wears Woodleigh, Sweet Sparkle and Ivey's Affair were slow to begin.

It's A Thrill checked off Blunderbuss approaching the first turn.  Blunderbuss, Bluegrass Icon and Full Tilt collided approaching the first turn.  Bluegrass Icon, Full Tilt and Splinter collided on the first turn checking Splinter and severely checking Full Tilt which stumbled.  Wears Woodleigh checked off Splinter on the second turn.  Ivey's Affair raced wide in the back straight.  It's A Thrill and Sweet Sparkle collided approaching the home turn checking Sweet Sparkles.  Wears Woodleigh and It's A Thrill collided on the home turn.  

Full Tilt was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right deltoid, left triangle injuries and abrasions to the hind legs, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Blunderbuss was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the lip under nose, no stand down period was imposed.

Zipping Galon, Sweet As Emm, Midnight Mystery and Whiney Whine were slow to begin.

Never Duplicated, Matty Mateusz and Our Delta Rose collided on the first turn checking Matty Mateusz and Never Duplicated.  Sweet As Emm and Matty Mateusz collided on the second turn checking Matty Mateusz.  Zipping Galon, Whiney Whine and Rockin' Joe collided on the fifth turn checking Whiney Whine.  Midnight Mystery checked off Whiney Whine approaching the home turn.

Apex With and Grey Ghost collided soon after the start.  Apex Within checked off Ask Me Now approaching the first turn.  Head Loch crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Bingo Boon, No Excuse, Ask Me Now, Apex Ghost, Grey Ghost and Superior Faith.  Bingo Boon checked off Head Loch on the second turn.  Apex Within, Bingo Boon and Grey Ghost collided on the third turn checking Grey Ghost.

Kinloch Moss and Beau Gem collided soon after the start.  Aston Utah, Kinloch Moss and Beau Gem collided approaching the first turn checking Kinloch Moss and Beau Gem.  Southern Ripple and Wilbur Deeds collided approaching the first turn.  Courting, Aston Utah, Oakvale Magic and Wilbur Deeds collided on the first turn checking Aston Utah, Wilbur Deeds and severely checking Oakvale Magic.  Beau Gem and Chips And Trains collided on the second turn.  Wilbur Deeds and Aston Utah collided on the third turn.  Wilbur Deeds and Oakvale Magic collided on the home turn.  Oakvale Magic and Beau Gem collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.  Chips And Trains raced wide in the home straight.  Oakvale Magic and Wilbur deeds collided in the home straight.

In accordance with GAR 32, Mr P. Riley, the representative for the greyhound Miyagi Magic reported to the Stewards that due to not being able to use a barking muzzle today because of the GRV Hot Weather Policy, that this may have an impact on the greyhound’s performance. The Stewards directed that the greyhound undergo a thorough vet examination prior to the running of the event.

Miyagi Magic was vetted prior to the running of this event and was passed fit to race.

Upon retreiving the greyhound Head Banger from its kennel, it was discovered the greyhound had its muzzle partially caught within its mouth. With assistance from the On Track Veterinarian, Dr A. Lavelle the muzzle was removed, the greyhound was then thoroughly examined, and passed fit to race.   

Lucy's Milo was slow to begin.

Lucille Dior and All Inn Baz collided soon after the start causing All Inn Baz and Lektra Caution to collide.  Miyagi Magic checked off Head Banger approaching the first turn.  Lucy's Milo checked off Lektra Caution approaching the first turn.  Miyagi Magic and Lucy's Milo collided on the first turn, approaching the second turn and again on the second turn checking both greyhounds.  Head Banger checked off Crook Me Kindly on the second turn.  Star Boy and Lucille Dior collided approaching the home turn.  All Inn Baz and Lucy's Milo collided approaching the home turn.  

Payton was a late scratching at 1.18pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Warpedo and Degani were slow to begin.

Aston Ranza and Warpedo collided soon after the start checking Aston Ranza.  Aston Ranza, Warpedo and Degani collided on the first turn checking Degani.

Spokane Flick and Dyna Carnie were slow to begin.

Sweet Bourbski and Oronsay collided approaching the first turn.  Mahoney Miss, Sweet Bourbski and Oronsay collided approaching the first turn severely checking all three greyhounds in turn checking Spokane Flick; causing Dyna Carnie to race wide as a result.  Dyna Carnie and Hayley's Style collided on the fourth turn.

Modern Jagger and Invictus Coco were slow to begin.

Mayhem Express crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Lightning Blast, Invictus Coco, Liberal Nunnio and Modern Jagger.  Lightning Blast and Unique Quality collided on the first turn.  Liberal Nunnio checked off Lightning Blast approaching the second turn.  Modern Jagger and Invictus Coco collided on the second turn severely checking both greyhounds.  Lightning Blast checked off Angry Trip entering the back straight and collided with Unique Quality.  Modern Jagger and Mayhem Express collided several times approaching the third turn, on the third turn, approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Modern Jagger checked off Mayhem Express approaching the winning post.

Pink Floyd, Abimbola and Dyna Xerox were slow to begin.

Pink Floyd and Abimbola collided soon after the start.  Why Not Ginger and Cosmic Ollie collided approaching the first turn.  Cosmic Ollie and Dyna Yardo collided approaching the second turn.  Abimbola galloped on Cosmic Ollie entering the back straight severely checking Abimbola which stumbled and causing Cosmic Ollie to fall.  Pink Floyd checked off Dyna Xerox entering the back straight.

Cosmic Ollie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that te greyhound sustained left and right deltoid injuries, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Abimbola was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right deltoid injury and a laceration to the left hind, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Mercedes Red and High Tenacity collided soon after the start.  Joyous Jill checked off Back Ya Self approaching the first turn.  Sisco Bella checked off Whip Allen approaching the first turn.  Sisco Bella and Mercedes Red collided on the first turn.  Back Ya Self checked off Whip Allen on the first turn checking Riviera Cruz and Flying Smart.  High Tenacity checked off Riviera Cruz approaching the second turn.  Riviera Cruz and Flying Smart collided in the back straight checking Flying Smart.  High Tenacity and Flying Smart collided on the third turn.  Joyous Jill and Whip Allen collided on the home turn.
