Stewards spoke to Mr Robin Moore, the trainer of Little Miss VIP, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Little Miss VIP last raced on 24 August 2018.  Mr Moore stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following left achilles and right toe injuries.

Arninator was a late scratching at 3:00pm for non-presentation (GAR 31).  Another greyhound was inadvertantly presented instead of Arninator by connections.  Under GAR 31, Mr Scott was fined $250.

Crymelon You Cro, Crymelon Victory, Crymelon Sally and Hornet Hudson collided soon after the start, checking Crymelon You Cro and Crymelon Victory.  Little Miss VIP, Crymelon Sally and Hornet Hudson collided on the first turn, checking Crymelon Sally and Hornet Hudson.  Crymelon You Cro checked off Hornet Hudson approaching the home turn.  Tuxedo Flyer and Mum's The Word raced wide approaching the home turn and on the home turn.

The Stewards also opened an inquiry into the bona fides of this race and in particular into the late scratching of Arninator (6), which left the kennelmate Hornet Hudson (5) with a vacant box to its outside. Both greyhounds are owned & trained by Mr Troy Scott.  During the course of the inquiry, Mr Scott advised that he did not support either greyhound and that the non-presentation was simply human error.  A full review of market fluctuations and betting analysis for this race has been requested by Stewards from GRV Betting Analysts.  The bonafides of Hornet Hudson's ownership were also discussed and are yet to be resolved.  As such, the inquiry has been adjourned.

Stewards checked Catcher's licence registration details for this event.  Three Catchers, who were registered, failed to present their registration identification cards; all three were directed to produce their cards at the next meeting.

Gunmetal Liam checked off Wally Milne soon after the start.  Blackpool Funk shifted in on the first turn, checking Wally Milne and Wok Fried Yabby.  Nitro Value and Blackpool Funk collided on the first turn, checking Nitro Value, Blackpool Funk and Wally Milne.  Nitro Value checked off Blackpool Funk approaching the home turn.

Saintly Jack and Yenderra Blue were slow to begin.  Why Not Loz was very slow to begin (4L).

Blackpool Nugget was quick to begin.

Stewards checked the registration details for all catchers in this event. All requested catchers presented their registration identification cards.

Head Loch shifted in soon after the start, severely checking Onions O'Reilly and El Grand Knocka.  Jacobite Joseph and Head Loch collided on the first turn. Red Hot Chevy tired over the concluding stages.

Red Hot Chevy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Robin Moore in relation to the performance of Red Hot Chevy, which started favourite in the event.  Mr Moore explained that the greyhound is better suited to a track where there are two turns, and also that the racing pattern of this event was more suited to the stronger finishing greyhounds.  Stewards accepted Mr Moore's explanation.

Onions O'Reilly was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg wrist injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.

El Grand Knocka was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr Scott Stefanos, the trainer of Proven Strudel, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Proven Strudel last raced on 3 September 2018.  Mr Stefanos stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennels.

The start of this event was delayed approximately 30 seconds due to remedial work on the track.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms. K. Thorburn, the trainer of Tonking Home regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Tonking Home last raced on 10/8/18. Ms. Thorburn stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right stopper injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Tonking Home trialled over the 410m from box one, weight 33.8 kgs, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 24:114, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.25 lengths. Tonking Home was Cleared.
