Fifty Dollar was a late scratching by Order of Stewards on the 5th February 2019 at 6:11pm after an inquiry was held with the trainer of the greyhound Mr. Shane Jack. As a result of the inquiry, Mr. Jack was immediately suspended in accordance with Local Racing Rule 11.14 and 11.16. Consequently, the greyhound Fifty Dollar was scratched in accordance with GAR 20(4).

Big Sam Marjen sand Mepunga Billy were slow to begin.

Champagne Luxe checked off Shanlyn Georgie approaching the first turn checking Mepunga Billy.  Dr. Sherlock checked off Azalea approaching the first turn.  Big Sam Marjen checked off Mercedes Red on the first turn checking Dr. Sherlock.  Champagne Luxe failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the second turn severely checking Big Sam Marjen.  Marcello and Shanlyn Georgie collided on the second turn. 

Big Sam Marjen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right sesamoid injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr D. Chapman, the trainer of the greyhound Champagne Luxe regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn.  Champagne Luxe was vetted and re-vetted following event. 10 It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right wrist sprain, left and right deltoid injuries, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Champagne Luxe with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Chapman pleaded guilty to the charge, Champagne Luxe was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
