Steward's Report
Yoppi Allen was a late scratching at 5.26pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to right foreleg carpal sprain. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Starter Mr S. Warde did not act in any official capacity for this event.
Brave Hearted was slow to begin (3 lengths). Controlling was quick to begin. Brave Hearted went up with the lids at box rise. Speedy Spyro, Spector Icon and Scott To Give collided soon after the start checking Spector Icon. Speedy Spyro and Controlling collided on the first tur. Spector Icon and Over The Horizon collided on the first turn checking Spector Icon and Over The Horizon. Brave Hearted raced wide in the home straight. Spector Icon marred Over The Horizon in the home straight.
Spectra Icon was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a back injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms M. Sullivan, the trainer of the greyhound Spector Icon regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Spector Icon with marring. Ms M. Sullivan pleaded guilty to the charge, Spector Icon was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
