Let Him Ride and Charlie Cockatoo were quick to begin. Wise Lewis and Gotham Queen collided soon after the start. Poor Old Frank and Gotham Queen collided approaching the first turn. Gotham Queen and Let Him Ride collided on the first turn, severely checking Let Him Ride. Let Him Ride lost considerable ground as a result. Gotham Queen checked off Charlie Cockatoo on the home turn. Gotham Queen checked off Wise Lewis entering the home straight.

Let Him Ride was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left back muscle injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.
