Steward's Report

Rappa Flash and Lady Freckles collided soon after the start checking Lady Freckles. Triple What eased soon after the start. How High Jazz, Triple What, Fend Off and Magic Lantern collided approaching the first turn checking How High Jazz. Magic Lantern, Fend Off and Triple What collided on the first turn which collided with How High Jazz. Rappa Flash galloped on the heels of Noble Weetbix on the home turn checking Noble Weetbix. Classy Fernando raced wide on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Abela, the trainer of the greyhound Triple What regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the back straight. Triple What was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left wrist, right fore fan muscle, right pencil muscle and right triangle muscle. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Triple What with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Abela pleaded guilty to the charge, Triple What was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
