Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr M Marshall, the Trainer of Hit Me Up, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Hit Me Up last raced on 7 June, 2018. Mr Marshall stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a left fibula injury and a change of trainer.
Mr M. Marshall, Trainer of Hit Me Up declared a new weight of 33.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Hit Me Up last raced at 32.3kgs.
Mr M. Marshall was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound Hit Me Up pursuant to GAR 33.
Lucky Paws, Hit Me Up and Clover Lad were slow to begin.
Aston Veloci crossed to the outside soon after the start colliding with Hit Me Up and Undectable. Undetectable and Clover Lad collided at the 300m mark checking Lucky Paws. Lucky Paws checked off Clover Lad at the 250m mark severely checking Lucky Paws in turn checking Hit Me Up; Lucky Paws faltered as a result and tailed off. Aston Veloci and Veetee Mist collided at the 250m mark. Veetee Mist checked off Red Queen at the 250m mark. Red Queen checked off Veetee Mist approaching the 100m mark. Clover Lad and Undetectable collided approaching the winning post. Veetee Mist checked off Red Queen approaching the winning post.
Lucky Paws was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left monkey muscle. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
