A pre-race sample was taken from Black Lazarus.
Bombora Thunder and Daytona Fernando collided soon after the start. Kraken Lightning and Blue Odessa collided approaching the first turn. Bombora Thunder, Daytona Fernando, Heza Real Deal, Black Lazarus and Dragonstone collided approaching the first turn checking Daytona Fernando and Bombora Thunder and causing Heza Real Deal to fall. Kraken Lightning and Blue Odessa collided approaching the home turn checking Blue Odessa which fell, causing Daytona Fernando to fall. Bombora Thunder and Sariah Allen collided on the home turn.
Blue Odessa was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a superficial abrasion to the right hind paw, a back injury, and injuries to the right monkey muscle and left chest muscle. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.
Daytona Fernando was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right quadriceps and superficial abrasions to the left cheek and right hind paw, and bruising to the left radius/ulna. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
Heza Real Deal was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right wrist and shoulderand a spike wound to the left fore leg. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
Sariah Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left forepaw split webbing, injuries to the left wrist, triceps, biceps and deltoid muscles. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.
