Stewards spoke to Mr N. Carthew, the trainer of Don's Queen regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Don's Queen last raced on 22 April 2018 and is returning to racing from a seasonal spell.

Stewards spoke to Mr I. Newcombe, the trainer of I'll Swap Ya regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  I'll Swap Ya last raced on 21 June 2018 and is returning to racing from a spell.  Mr Newcombe also declared a new weight of 35.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). I'll Swap Ya last raced at 33.7kgs.

Stewards spoke to Mrs J. Fothergill, the representative of Ko Mai Si regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Ko Mai Si last raced on 13 July 2018 and is returning to racing from a change of kennels.  

Mrs K. Fogarty, trainer of Zipping Lucky declared a new weight of 25.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Zipping Lucky last raced at 24.2kgs.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Lil' Miss Willow a reserve in this event on 16 October 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Fabulous Cash and I'll Swap Ya were slow to begin.

Fabulous Cash and Big Papa collided soon after the start.  Fine For Me, Zipping Lucky and Valhalla Girl collided soon after the start.  Don's Queen and I'll Swap Ya collided on the first turn checking Don's Queen which subsequently tailed off.  I'll Swap Ya and Ko Mai Si collided entering the home straight checking Ko Mai Si.

Don's Queen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right back muscle injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Cool Rhonda engaged in this event on 16 October 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

A pre-race sample was taken from Kiwi Al.

Blueflash Lenny was slow to begin.

New Fire Girl and Cool Rhonda collided on the first turn severely checking Cool Rhonda and checking Blueflash Lenny.  Nostalgia galloped on Cool Rhonda on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds and causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground.  Blueflash Lenny checked off Ragged Warrior entering the home straight.

Cool Rhonda was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Nostalgia was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Mrs S. Trim the representative of Smoke And Embers requested the greyhound be vetted following an incident in the catching pen after the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained right shin soreness, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Dyna Cassie crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Scrumble, Carson County and severely checking Lektra Rival.  Lektra Rival raced wide on the home turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Akina Harley. 

Romany Girl was quick to begin.  Akina Harley was slow to begin (3 lengths).

Cee Me Ignite and Silver Sky collided on the first turn.  Cee Me Ignite, Yuken Pay Me and Reggie Ryan collided on the first turn checking Yuken Pay Me and Reggie Ryan.

Architecture was quick to begin.  Crossfire Icon and Potere were slow to begin.

News Print checked off Triceps Brachii approaching the first turn checking Triceps Brachii and Potere.  News Print and Triceps Brachii collided approaching the home turn severely checking Triceps Brachii.  News Print checked off Sopha Gem approaching the winning post.  Hannah Bear and Potere collided approaching the winning post.

Miss Crazy and Wadelock Venus were quick to begin.  Hooded Troyer and Dr. Watson were slow to begin.  

Miss Crazy and Surfonic Gold collided approaching the first turn.  Surfonic Gold, Wadelock Venus and Jupiter Jones collided on the first turn checking Wadelock Venus and Zoenah's Legacy.  Dashing Dino, Wadelock Venus and Jupiter Jones collided approaching the home turn checking Dashing Jones and Wadelock Venus.  Hooded Troyer and Miss Crazy collided approaching the winning post.

Dr. Eleonora and Temujin were quick to begin.

Dr. Eleonora and Our Girl Livy collided soon after the start checking Dr. Eleonera.  Dr. Annie and Good Odds Ava collided approaching the first turn checking Dr. Annie.  Diesel Turbo and Good Odds Ava collided approaching the home turn.  Dr. Eleonora checked off Our Girl Livy on the home turn.  Patchie Thief tied over the concluding stages.

Patchie Thief was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Zoobie was a late scratching at 6:31am due to injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Sandy Lagoon was a late scratching at 11:26am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a right toe injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Mahjong World.

Mahjong World was quick to begin.  Don't Trust, Surf In Vane and Speedy Ryder were slow to begin.

Don't Trust and Surf In vane collided on the first turn. 

Wanjiro was a late scratching at 11:54am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr S. Van oirschot was fined the sum of $100.

Habana City and Mac Daddy were slow to begin.

Good One Carl and Smoke Signals collided on the first turn checking Good One Carl.  Good One Carl and Habana City collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  

Ms C. Barnard the trainer of Good One Carl requested the greyhound be vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left foot, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. 

A post-race sample was taken from Banjo Sally - winner of the event.  

Dr. Marshmellow and Long Live Sid were slow to begin.

General Missy and Ann Cherie collided on the first turn.  Aladdin Prince, Double Black and Destini Exactor collided approaching the home turn.  General Missy and Ann Cherie collided several times in the home straight severely checking General Missy.  Double Black raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr B. Moles after the greyhound Viewing was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. Stewards issued Mr Moles with a warning due to his good record and reminded when kennelling he ensures greyhounds are kennelled in accordance with kennel procedure.

Stewards spoke to kennel staff regarding the incorrect kenneling of a greyhound in this event. As a result of these inquires Stewards referred the incident to the Club Manager Mr A C Scott for further consideration.

Viewing was slow to begin.

Flashing Oaks and Perfect Hours collided soon after the start.  Viewing, Flashing Oaks and Perfect Hours collided on the first turn checking Flashing Oaks and Perfect Hours.  Tricky Trey checked off My Names Schultz approaching the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr L. Fulford the trainer of Gone Early regarding his mobile phone ringing whilst in the hands of the starter with the amber light on, delaying the start of the event slightly (GAR 44). Mr Fulford pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the sum of $100.00.

Keno Bale, Flip and Magic Euphoria collided soon after the start.  My Names Rhonda raced wide in the home straight. 

MEETING COMMENTS;

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr D. McKenzie, the trainer of All Spiced Up regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. All Spiced Up last raced on15 April 2018 and is returning to racing from a right wrist injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, All Spiced Up trialled over the 400mtrs from box 1, weight 35.2kgs, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22:97, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of a Neck. All Spiced Up was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Dex's Affair trialled over the 400mtrs from box 3, weight 33.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22:97, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of a head.  Dex's Affair was Not Cleared due to easing approaching the winning post.
