Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr N. Carthew, the trainer of Don's Queen regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Don's Queen last raced on 22 April 2018 and is returning to racing from a seasonal spell.
Stewards spoke to Mr I. Newcombe, the trainer of I'll Swap Ya regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. I'll Swap Ya last raced on 21 June 2018 and is returning to racing from a spell. Mr Newcombe also declared a new weight of 35.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). I'll Swap Ya last raced at 33.7kgs.
Stewards spoke to Mrs J. Fothergill, the representative of Ko Mai Si regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Ko Mai Si last raced on 13 July 2018 and is returning to racing from a change of kennels.
Mrs K. Fogarty, trainer of Zipping Lucky declared a new weight of 25.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Zipping Lucky last raced at 24.2kgs.
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Lil' Miss Willow a reserve in this event on 16 October 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Fabulous Cash and I'll Swap Ya were slow to begin.
Fabulous Cash and Big Papa collided soon after the start. Fine For Me, Zipping Lucky and Valhalla Girl collided soon after the start. Don's Queen and I'll Swap Ya collided on the first turn checking Don's Queen which subsequently tailed off. I'll Swap Ya and Ko Mai Si collided entering the home straight checking Ko Mai Si.
Don's Queen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right back muscle injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Fine For Me - winner of the event.
