Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Ballistic Gem upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
A pre-race sample was taken from Croucher.
Crossfire Icon was a late scratching at 1:30pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Ballistic Gem and News Print were slow to begin.
Nimble Lucy checked off News print on the first turn. Dex's Affair eased approaching the winning post.
Dex's Affair was vetted and re-vetted following event 7. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr J. Clay, the trainer of the greyhound Dex's Affair regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Dex's Affair with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Clay pleaded guilty to the charge, Dex's Affair was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
