Boston Quay, Star Catcher and Aston Jagger were quick to begin.
Husky Hoofs and Aston Jagger collided approaching the first turn. Middle Chick and Proven Regis collided approaching the first turn. Boston Quay and Aston Jagger collided approaching the home turn. Husky Hoofs marred Star Catcher on the home turn. Star Catcher and Rumbling Home raced wide in the home straight.
Middle Chic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration and spike wound to the top of both hind paws. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.
Husky Hoofs was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hock sprain. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Klemke, the trainer of the greyhound Husky Hoofs regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Husky Hoofs with marring. Mr. Klemke pleaded guilty to the charge, Husky Hoofs was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
