Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Julana.
Perfect Zuma raced wide soon after the start. Blackpool Nugget checked off Middle Chic on the first turn also checking Perfect Zuma. Winlock Slim and Julana collided approaching the home turn checking Winlock Slim. Julana eased and shifted in in the home straight, colliding several times with Deneholme Dasher, causing Deneholme Dasher to contact the running rail and lose ground.
Blackpool Nugget was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right hind toe, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Julana was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Ms. D Massina, the trainer of the greyhound Julana regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Julana with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Massina pleaded guilty to the charge, Julana was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
