Stewards spoke to Mr Paul Santoro, the trainer of Lee I Am, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Lee I Am last raced on 22 January 2018. Mr Santoro stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left stopper bone injury.

Fiery Nell and Schusta were quick to begin.

Tally Ho Billy and Lido's Boy collided approaching the 200m mark. Tally Ho Billy crossed to the outside approaching the 150m mark. Molly Walker, Perfect Rider and Fiery Nell collided at the 100m mark, checking Fiery Nell.

Tally Ho Billy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.

Doc Nam was slow to begin.

Jupiter Jones and Crime Minister collided soon after the start, checking Jupiter Jones. Unusable and Crime Minister collided approaching the 200m mark.

Cosmic Breeze, King Gibbo and Keep Talking collided soon after the start. Banjo Milne and King Gibbo collided at the 300m mark. Lanis Morris and Pergamon collided at the 300m mark. King Gibbo checked off Banjo Milne at the 150m mark.

Mr Gary Cowcher, trainer of Mr. Swan, declared a new weight of 32.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Mr. Swan last raced at 33.7kg.

This event was delayed approximately two minutes to allow Healesville GA staff to remove ducks from the track. Soon after the commencement of the lure, a flock of ducks reappeared on the track and flew into the oncoming field at the 100m mark. Stewards withheld "all clear" to view the official video footage including the head on video footage.  Acting on their own observations and after viewing the race  video footage, Stewards couldn’t be comforttably satisfied that the greyhounds running positions weren’t affected by the ducks flying across the path of the field, in particular the greyhound Mr. Swan (Box 6) which was  inconvenienced losing momentum. 

Acting under GAR 56 Stewards declared a No Race. 

Royal Bruno was vetted after the greyhound fell soon after the start of the race. It was reported that the greyhound sustained superficial abrasions to the left side of the muzzle. A three-day stand down period was imposed.

Blue Magnum and Speedy Ryder were slow to begin.

Tricky Trey and Tobias Kelton were slow to begin.

Magic Buddie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a carpal sprain to the right wrist and an injury to the right long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A 21-day stand down period was imposed.
