Steward's Report
Tory's Rocket was slow to begin.
Dark Hombre, Ebonique, Killara John and Gypsy Kiowa collided soon after the start, checking Dark Hombre, Killara John and Gypsy Kiowa. Kazza Magoo and Spolly's Girl collided approaching the first turn. Ebonique checked off Dark Hombre approaching the home turn. Spolly's Girl eased on the home turn and lost considerable ground. Ebonique checked off Dark Hombre entering the home straight.
Spolly's Girl was vetted and after being re-vetted following event five; it was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to Mr Pasqualino Romagnino, the trainer of the greyhound Spolly's Girl, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Spolly's Girl with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Romagnino pleaded not guilty to the charge, Spolly's Girl was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
