Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Setford, the trainer of Velocity Korina regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Velocity Korina last raced at 3rd March 2018. Mr. Setford stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a change of kennel.
Zipping Monty, Gehring Bale and Velocity Korina collided soon after the start. Miles Per Gallon and Kuta's Lad collided approaching the first turn. Kuta's Lad checked off Miles Per Gallon on the first turn causing Zipping Monty and Kuta's Lad to collide. Zipping Monty checked off Miles Per Gallon approaching the second turn. Zipping Monty and Kuta's Lad collided on the second turn. Gehring Bale and Miles Per Gallon collided entering the back straight. Zipping Monty and Kuta's Lad collided entering the back straight checking Kuta's Lad. Miles Per Gallon and Velocity Korina collided on the third turn. Kuta's Lad and Velocity Korina collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.
Excelencia was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right front phalangeal fracture. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
