Zipping Boyd and All Jokes Aside were slow to begin.
Quick Step and Jemma's Fantasy collided soon after the start. Honestly Bob stumbled soon after the start. Bacardi Breezer crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with Little Big Shot, Honestly Bob and All Jokes Aside. Quick Step and Jemma's Fantasy collided approaching the first turn. Jemma's Fantasy and Little Big Shot collided approaching the first turn, checking Jemma's Fantasy. Quick Step, Little Big Shot and All Jokes Aside collided on the first turn. Bacardi Breezer and Zipping Boyd collided on the first turn. Jemma's Fantasy checked off All Jokes Aside on the home turn. Bacardi Breezer and All Jokes Aside collided approaching the winning post.
All Jokes Aside was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising to the left inguinal ara. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards enquired into the performance of All Jokes Aside which started short priced favourite and performed below market expectations. Stewards spoke to Ms M Toner, kennel representative for the greyhound, who stated that the dog ran to the kennel's expectations given it was not a strong 500m runner and encountered interference throughout the race. Stewards noted this explanation and took no further action.
