Stewards spoke to Mr George Kantzidis, the trainer of Diamond Bling regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Diamond Bling last raced on February 28th 2018. Mr Kantzidis stated that the greyhound was resuming from being seasonal.

 Mr George Kantzidis, trainer of Diamond Bling, declared a new weight of 28.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Diamond Bling last raced at 29.4kg.

Royal Solo and Mr. Delahoya collided approaching the first turn. Amor Vincit, Alexagal and Alta Linea collided approaching the first turn, causing Alexagal and Alta Linea to race wide on the first turn. Royal Solo and Mr. Delahoya collided on the second turn. Royal Solo galloped on Mr. Delahayo in the back straight, checking Mr. Delahoya which lost ground as a result. Heza Real Deal and Markinch Maid collided entering the home straight. Mr. Delahoya was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left pectoral (chest) muscle, bruising to the left thigh and lacerations to the left hind leg. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr Michael Chilcott, the trainer of Chill Out Chris, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn. After deliberation, Stewards opted to place an official warning on Chill Out Chris' racing manners.

Dyna Terror was a late scratching at 8:33AM due to a right hock injury (GAR 23). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Stewards inquired into the circumstances surrounding the late withdrawal of Dyna Terror from this event. Trainer Mr Correy Grenfell stated that the greyhound was examined prior to official scratching time and at that time was, in his opinion, fit to compete. He added that subsequently it was found to be injured, suffering from an injured right hock, and for this reason Dyna Terror was a late scratching at 8:33AM. Stewards accepted the explanation and took no further action.

Oshkosh Uni Chet was slow to begin.

Jaclyn Bale, Verne Allen, Loch Tight and Sable Sass collided soon after the start. Kinloch Miss, Sable Sass and Jaclyn Bale collided approaching the first turn. Loch Tight and Verne Allen collided approaching the first turn, checking Oshkosh Uni Chet which raced wide on the first turn. All Jokes Aside was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising to the left inguinal ara. No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards enquired into the performance of All Jokes Aside which started short priced favourite and performed below market expectations. Stewards spoke to Ms M Toner, kennel representative for the greyhound, who stated that the dog ran to the kennel's expectations given it was not a strong 500m runner and encountered interference throughout the race. Stewards noted this explanation and took no further action.
