The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Inga Ross and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 4:28pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. P. Inguanti was fined the sum of $100.

But What For was slow to begin.

Fish Armo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards opened an inquiry into circumstances surrounding the withdrawals of Watching You (V Tullio), Bula Bang Bang (V Tullio) and Awesome Catch (J Magri) from this event due to illness.  Initial evidence was taken from Registered Trainers Mr Vince Tullio, Mr John Magri and Mrs Michelle Malia-Magri via telephone. Acting under the provisions of GAR 20 (v), Mr Tullio and Mr Magri were directed to produce a veterinary certificate of fitness for their respective greyhounds, prior to any further nominations being accepted. The inquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed to afford Stewards the opportunity to examine betting records and make further inquiries. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Marlucky Day.

Rockin' Joe and Moore Of Moore collided soon after the start.  Cruisy's Angle and Lady Pippa collided approaching the first turn.  Rockin' Joe checked off Moore Of Moore on the first turn.  Cruisy's Angle and Rockin' Joe raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. I. Chircop, the trainer of Eumeralla Rosie regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Eumeralla Rosie last raced on 1st January 2018. Mr. Chircop stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season.

Master Reid was quick to begin.  Tic Toc Toby and Iceni Outlaw collided approaching the first turn checking Iceni Outlaw.  Break The Code, Macalister Ike and Tic Toc Toby collided approaching the first turn checking Break The Code and Macalister Ike.  Break The Code and Macalister Ike collided on the first turn checking Break The Code.  Break The Code and Eumeralla Rosie collided on the home turn checking Break The Code.  Tic Toc Toby and Merl's Angel raced wide in the home straight.

Why Not Archie was quick to begin.  Why Not Archie and Seabrook Eb collided approaching the first turn checking Seabrook Eb.  Crackerjack Shak and Top Alcohol collided on the first turn checking Top Alcohol and Bella Express.  Why Not Archie faltered on the first turn and tailed off as a result.  Crackerjack Shak, Bella Express and Top Alcohol collided approaching the home turn checking Top Alcohol.  Bella Express and Seabrook Eb collided on the home turn.  Bella Express raced wide in the home straight.

Why Not Archie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Tuscan Flex and Destini Montana were slow to begin.  Minnie Ha Ha, Game Spirit and Hey Alio Fozzio collided on the first turn checking Hey Alio Fozzio.  Hey Alio Fozzio raced wide in the back straight.  Tuscan Flex and Destini Montana collided approaching the second turn.  Hey Alio Fozzio and Game Spirit raced wide entering the home straight.

Cash No Bounce was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to its left hock.  No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Ms. D. Vigor, the trainer of Cash No Bounce regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Sight Screen.

Trouble Brewing and Sight Screen collided approaching the first turn checking Sight Screen.  Sight Screen checked off Riverdale Danger on the first turn.  Riverdale Danger checked off Elsie Jean on the home turn.  Riverdale Danger cramped in the home straight.

Riverdale Danger was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained cramping.  No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. I. Green (trainer) and Mr M. Abela, (representative) of the greyhound Riverdale Danger.  Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Weightman, the trainer of Okay Penny regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Okay Penny last raced on 8th February 2018.  Mr. Weightman stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season.

Okay Penny was quick to begin.  Roman Blue Jay and Bald Wal were slow to begin.  Ido Voodoo and Agent Osti collided approaching the first turn.  Agent Osti and Bald Wal collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking Agent Osti.  Take That Banksy galloped on the heels of Okay Penny on the home turn severely checking Okay Penny.

Okay Penny was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Watson, the trainer of Owen Banks regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Owen Banks last raced on 13th January 2018.  Mr. Watson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right stopper injury.

A pre-race sample was taken from Cosmic Spur.

Cosmic Spur, Platinum Osti, Swift Spur and Severus Grange collided on the first turn checking Platinum Osti and Swift Spur.  Cosmic Spur checked off Hearing De Novo on the home turn.  Platinum Osti tired in the home straight.

Platinum Osti was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
