Billy's Bake, Good Luck Mark and Outshined collided approaching the first turn checking Good Luck Mark. Hot Tip checked off Good Luck Mark on the first turn. Mepunga Laser crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Betty La Fae. Billy's Bake, Zipping Galon and Outshined collided entering the front straight causing Outshined to race wide as a result. Hot Tip and Zipping Galon collided approaching the third turn. Our Mate Wilson checked off the heels of Good Luck Mark approaching the third turn causing Our Mate Wilson to race wide as a result. Zipping Galon and Good Luck Mark collided in the home staright.

Exhibition trial: West On Augie trialled over the 525m from box 1, weight 29.5kg. The time of the trial was 30.16. First split: 5.17. Second split: 18.05.

Tampico, Zipping Nancy and Midnight Starlet collided soon after the start. Dyna Francine and Staying In Paris collided approaching the first turn. Shellbrook, Pandaken, Rocket Ruby, Tampico and Midnight Starlet collided approaching the first turn checking Shellbrook and Zipping Nancy which collided with Midnight Starlet. Midnight Starlet crossed to the rail entering the back straight and collided with Pandaken checking Pandaken. Pandaken checked off Tampico approaching the home turn. Shellbrook raced wide on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr B. Mackie, the trainer of Radiant Angel regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Radiant Angel last raced on December 24th 2017. Mr Mackie stated the greyhound was returning to racing following a seasonal spell.

A pre race sample was unable to obtained from Radiant Angel. A post race sample was subsequently taken.

Rocket Tears was slow to begin. Radiant Angel and Aston Kimetto collided soon after the start. Aston Kimetto crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Lilywhites which collided with Radiant Angel. Off The Bit checked off Hurricane Wayne on the first turn and raced wide as a result. Aston Kimetto checked off Hurricane Wayne entering the back straight, approaching the third turn and on the third turn. Aston Kimetto crossed to the rail approaching the home turn checking Hurricane Wayne. Lucille Dior raced wide on the home turn.

Mighty Hazza and Darren Allen were slow to begin. Mighty Hazza, Zipping Maisy and Rellim Diesel collided approaching the first turn. Darren Allen and Rellim Diesel raced wide on the first turn. Mighty Hazza checked off Zipping Maisy in the home straight. Mighty Hazza and Fifty Dollar collided in the home straight.

Ella Enchanted and Undisputed collided soon after the start. Quotation Mark, Navajo Bear, Chief's Empire and Blue Hunter collided soon after the start checking Navajo Bear. Blue Hunter crossed to the rail approaching the first turn severely checking Milky Jones, Chief's Empire and Dual Keroma. Ella Enchanted checked off Undisputed entering the back straight. Ella Enchanted checked off Milky Jones on the home turn, Ella Enchanted raced wide and collided with Dual Keroma as a result.

Trianna, Vixstar, One Plus Two and Shayna Powers collided soon after the start checking Vixstar. No Excuse, Trianna and Shayna Powers collided soon after the start checking Trianna. Shayna Powers and No Excuse collided approaching the first turn checking One Plus Two and Vixstar. Vixstar collided with Trianna on the first turn and both greyhounds raced wide as a result. My Name's David checked off Apache Flame approaching the home turn. Shayna Powers checked off My Names's David approaching the home turn.

A pre race sample was taken from Revved Up Dee.

Dyna Carmen, Werner Bale and Sharp Diamond collided on the first turn checking Sharp Diamond. Dyna Alistair and Revved up Dee collided on the first turn. Sharp Diamond checked off Revved Up Dee on the first turn, Sharp Diamond raced wide as a result. Dyna Alistair checked off Sharp Diamond on the second turn. Dyna Carmen checked off Revved Up Dee approaching the fourth turn. Revved Up Dee and Dyna Alistair collided entering the home straight.

Belt Up Bubs and Fast Car Driving were slow to begin. Hone In checked off Percy's Empire soon after the start and collided with Fast Car Driving. Hone In, Percy's Empire, Aeroplane Indy and Zippy Daph colllided approaching the first turn checking Zippy Daph. Percy's Empire checked off Hone In approaching the second turn and collided with Belt Up Bubs. Zippy Daph, Fast Car Driving and Envy Heist collided on the third turn. Aeroplane Indy, Midnight Hero and Belt Up Bubbs collided approaching the winning post checking Midnight Hero.

Mepunga Pride and Sterling Archer were slow to begin. Sterling Archer, Rockin' Roz and Warrion Warrior collided soon after the start checking Rockin' Roz. Mepunga Pride, Who's Got Class and Sterling Archer collided on the first turn severely checking all three greyhounds. Why Not Bazzar, which was leading, commenced to lose ground on the third turn before falling in the catching pen.

Rockin' Roz which tailed off, was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right triangle muscle, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Why Not Bazzar was vetted following the event and re - vetted after race 11. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr G Carter, trainer of Why Not Bazzar, regarding the greyhound's performance over the concluding stages of the race, where the greyhound faded badly and then fell approaching the catching pen. Mr Carter stated that although the greyhound had been racing over shorter distances, it had trialed up to 500 metres.  Mr Carter further stated that the greyhound would lead and he expected the greyhound would have a forward showing in tonight's run, however, agreed with the Stewards observations that the greyhound faded badly over the concluding stages of the race. Stewards deemed the performance of Why Not Bazzar unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Why Not Bazzar must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.   

A pre race sample was taken from South Of Eden.

Zipping Olympia, Spokane Flick and Merc collided soon after the start checking Spokane Flick. Double Que, Phoenix Fernando, South Of Eden and Zipping Olympia collided approaching the first turn checking Phoenix Fernando and Double Que. Dyna Xerox checked off Phoenix Fernando on the first turn. Spokane Flick raced wide on the home turn. 

Stewards noted the muzzle of South of Eden became wedged in the greyhounds teeth in the catching pen.

Acting on a confirmed phone call from Trainer Mr W. Hartigan, Rig Fifty Five was a late scratching at 17:49 by order of Stewards (no penalty) due to a breakdown on route to the course. An RACV report certificate confirming this will be forwarded to stewards by the trainer.

A pre race sample was taken from Dyna Alia.

Miss Morrisset and Yuko were quick to begin. Dyna Alia, Junior Wizard and Reality Hawk collided approaching the first turn checking all four greyhounds. Junior Wizard and Primed Engine collided in the back straight. Primed Engine crossed to the rail approaching the third turn checking Junior Wizard. Dyna Alia and Yuko collided approaching the home turn. Jumior Wizard checked off Primed Engine entering the home straight and raced wide as a result.

A pre race sample was taken from Dyna Nancy.

Varuchi Pass, Orazzi Ohh and Miss Dee Meadows were slow to begin. Krupa and Dyna Uni collided approaching the first turn. Dyna Uni and Dyna Nancy collided approaching the first turn. Dyna Uni and Dyna Nancy collided approaching the first turn. Krupa and Dyna Uni collided on the first turn. Krupa checked off Dyna Uni on the second turn. Orazzi Ohh checked off Varuchi Pass in the back straight. Orazzi Ohh checked off Miss Dee Meadows approaching the home turn. Dyna Nancy checked off Dyna Uni entering the home straight. Orazzi Ohh and Dyna Uni collided in the home straight.

Meeting comments:

Stewards tonight re-opened an inquiry from the Cranbourne meeting on July 4th 2018, regarding the reason surrounding Mr G. Carter allowing Why Not Leo to be removed from the kennels and left the track without having the greyhound vetted. Trainer Mr G. Carter gave evidence regarding the circumstances as to why the greyhound was not presented for a vet check and why he had left the course. Mr Carter added that when he returned home he noticed that he had missed calls and returned to the course immediately however the veterinarian had left the course.  Stewards deliberated on the evidence given by Mr Carter and handed down a warning in this instance.

A veterinary examination of  Why Not Leo was subsequently undertaken and no apparent injury was found.
