Manarola, Iona Misty and Love Laughing were slow to begin.
Why Not Hugh and Go Zippy Go collided soon after the start. Love Laughing crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Why Not Hugh, Love Laughing and severely checking Big Bazza and Go Zippy Go, Big Bazza and Go Zippy Go contacted the running rail as a result. Go Zippy Go galloped on Fiesty Girl on the first turn checking Fiesty Girl and severely checking Big Bazza and Go Zippy Go. Iona Misty checked off Love Laughing approaching the home turn. Big Bazza and Go Zippy Go collided approaching the home turn, on the home turn and entering the home straight.
Big Bazza was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right hind toe and left hock, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Go Zippy Go was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left radius/ulna and left shifle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from 2nd placegetter Manarola .A post-race sample was subsequently taken.
