Steward's Report

Mr. S. Divers trainer of Harry's Hammer declared a new weight of 34.6kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Harry's Hammer last raced at 33.1kg.

Mighty Storm was slow to begin.

Pyrenees Acclaim, Mighty Storm and Tiger Cabang collided soon after the start checking Pyrenees Acclaim and Mighty Storm. Tiger Tees and Tiger Cabang collided on the first turn checking Tiger Tees. Mighty Storm checked off Tiger Tees approaching the home turn. Tiger Cabang and Harry's Hammer collided approaching the home turn. Mighty Storm checked off Pyrenees Acclaim on the home turn checking Mighty Storm. Pyrenees Acclaim and Mighty Storm collided on the home turn. Mighty Storm veered out and marred the running of Pyrenees Acclaim several times in the home straight. Tiger Tees checked off Scott A Secret approaching the winning post.

Mighty Storm was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the neck and right hind paw. A stand down period of 28 days was imposed.

Hard Knocks was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a back muscle injury. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Merton, the trainer of the greyhound Mighty Storm regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Mighty Storm with marring. Mr. Merton pleaded not guilty to the charge, Mighty Storm was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
