Stewards spoke to Mrs Wendy Cunningham, the trainer of Round Nose, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Round Nose last raced 12 December, 2017 and is returning to racing following a left shoulder injury.

Tzar Liam and Round Nose collided soon after the start, checking Tzar Liam. Mirror Max and Irinka Jenna collided at the 300m mark. Tzar Liam and Raw Brilliance collided at the 150m mark.

Stewards spoke to Mrs Christine Haigh, the trainer of Kelly's Star, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Kelly's Star last raced 12 December 2017 and is returning to racing following an infection. Mrs Haigh also declared a new weight of 31.9kg for th greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Kelly's Star last raced at 30.8kg.

Mr Calven Russell was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers/registration card were produced for the greyhound Bear Left pursuant to GAR 33.

Ms Sheley-Ann Warde, the handler of Bear Left, declared a new weight of 32.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Bear Left last raced at 30.9kg.

Bear Left was very slow to begin (3L). Blue Irish went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (4L).

Maggie Mikado and Kelly's Star raced wide throughout the event. Merl's Michu marred Maggie Mikado at the 150m mark. Cosmic Buzzard and Blue Irish collided at the 150m mark. Blue Irish checked off Cosmic Buzzard approaching the winning post.

Merl's Michu was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the right foot. A five-day veterinary stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Garry Johnson, the trainer of the greyhound Merl's Michu, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 150m mark. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Merl's Michu with marring. Mr Johnson pleaded not guilty to the charge, Merl's Michu was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr Jason Formosa, the trainer of Lektra Rival, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Lektra Rival last raced 27 December 2017 and is returning to racing following a change of kennel. 

Lektra Rival was slow to begin.

Octo Burn checked off Mini Tron soon after the start and collided with Bless 'Em All. Lektra Rival and Blue Squirrel collided at the 300m mark. Octo Burn and City Rambler collided at the 300m mark. Reality Thunder and Lektra Rival collided at the 150m mark.

Silver Banjo was slow to begin.

Fifty Dollar and Tub's Tiger collided soon after the start. Silver Banjo and I've Got Bills collided at the 250m mark. Olary checked off Tub's Tiger at the 250m mark and collided with Mantra Mick. Silver Banjo checked off I've Got Bills approaching the winning post.

Silver Banjo was vetted following a collision in the catching pen.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abraisons on the left foot. A five-day stand down period was imposed.

Captain Marvel was a late scratching at 12:09pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a burst papilloma. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

Triceps Brachii was slow to begin.

Challis Sprite, Triceps Brachii and All You Got collided soon after the start, checking Triceps Brachii. Here's Tiger, Dex's Affair and Anndar Amoree collided at the 250m mark. Anndar Amoree raced wide at the 50m mark and collided with Ear We Come. Challis Sprite checked off Ear We Come approaching the winning post.

Mr Garry Harding was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers/registration card were produced for the greyhound Cool Boots pursuant to GAR 33.

Meehan Deano crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with Jakesta. Prince Mikado and Gold Odessa collided at the 300m mark and again at the 200m mark. Not Loitering checked off Blackpool Donny at the 200m mark. Gold Odessa checked off Prince Mikado at the 150m mark.

Mr Matthew Tabb, trainer of Supraspinatus, declared a new weight of 36.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Supraspinatus last raced at 34.7kg.

A pre-race sample was taken from Coronary Cloud.

Blackjack's Back was slow to begin and crossed to the rail soon after the start. Tayla's Banjo and Coronary Cloud collided soon after the start. Alfie's Affair and Supraspinatus collided soon after the start and again approaching the 300m mark. Supraspinatus checked off Alfie's Affair approaching the 250m mark and crossed to the rail as a result.

Stewards spoke to attendant handler Ms Kathleen Newport, and issued a warning regarding her failure to catch the greyhound Coronary Cloud in this event, pursuant to GAR 48.

Cullquin Bomber was a late scratching at 12:04pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to fleas. No veterinary stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Bling Dynasty.

Bourbon An Kahn crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Two Seasons and Bossino, and severely checking Silent Boloney. Two Seasons and Bossino collided at the 300m mark. Air Load and Bling Dynasty collided at the 250m mark. Two Seasons and Bling Dynasty collided at the 200m mark. Two Seasons checked off Air Load at the 200m mark and collided with Bling Dynasty, causing both greyhounds to race wide.

Silent Boloney was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a minor abrasion to the right hind leg. No stand down period was imposed.

Wolf Point and Shakey Cougar were slow to begin.

Big Deal, Iona Misty and Okay Pumpkin collided approaching the 150m mark, checking Iona Misty. Lilrigg and Shakey Cougar collided approaching the 150m mark, checking Lilrigg. Lilrigg and Wolf Point collided at the 150m mark, severely checking both greyhounds. She's Perfect, Big Deal and Shakey Cougar collided approaching the winning post. Mr Steven Tabb, trainer of Rhomboid, declared a new weight of 33.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Rhomboid last raced at 32.2kg.

Rhomboid crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with Ernie's Legacy, checking Mister Heeney. Johnny's Return and Mon Mekki Kahn collided soon after the start. Rhomboid and Ernie's Legacy collided at the 100m mark, severely checking Rhomboid, Ernie's Legacy and Mister Henney.

Rhomboid was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.

Subscapularis and Tzar Norma were slow to begin.

Subscapularis stumbled soon after the start. Tzar Norma raced wide at the 250m mark. Oaklands and Tooka Half collided at the 100m mark. Uncatchable and Turfman collided approaching the 50m mark. Shake The Night raced wide approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr Donald Rhodes, the trainer of Yangtze, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Yangtze last raced 29 November 2017 and is returning to racing after an injury. 

Daintree Dynamo, Jimmy's Angel and Yangtze collided soon after the start. Daintree Dynamo, Jimmy's Angel, Yangtze and Tobias Kelton collided at the 250m mark. Daintree Dynamo, Yangtze and Tusksa collided at the 200m mark. Jimmy's Angel and Tobias Kelton collided at the 200m mark. Daintree Dynamo, Yangtze and Tusksa collided at the 150m mark. Daintree Dynamo and Tusksa collided several times from the 100m mark to the 50m mark.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Keith Hellmuth, the trainer of Black Talon, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Black Talon last raced on 24 August 2017. Mr Hellmuth stated that the greyhound had been recovering from a right stopper injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Black Talon trialled over the 350m from box three, weight 36.9kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of five. The time of the trial was 19.52, the greyhound won by a margin of 0.5L. Black Talon was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Hide The Wallet trialled over the 350m from box eight, weight 27.5kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of five. The time of the trial was 19.52, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.75L. Hide The Wallet was cleared.
