Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Briganti, the kennel representative of Red Rocks regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Red Rocks last raced on 23rd July, 2017. Mr. Briganti stated that Red Rocks was returning to race after being on season.
Lizzy Allen crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Zambora Pride and severely checking Rock'em Elvis; Rock'em Elvis fell as a result. Our Didda and Down Mexico Way collided approaching the first turn. Expecto Patronum faltered on the first turn and lost ground as a result. Expecto Patronum and Our Didda collided on the first turn checkng both greyhounds. Ruby Rads and Down Mexico Way collided on the home turn.
Stewards inspected the racing surface soon after the start where Rock'em Elvis fell. Stewards deemed the surface safe and suitable for racing.
Expecto Patronum was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right back muscle. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Rock'em Elvis was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
