Steward's Report
King Royale and Zipping Lance were slow to begin. King Royale and Coco Spectre collided soon after the start checking King Royale. Coco Spectre checked off Apache Bro approaching the first turn. Destini Comet, Apache Bro and Dyna Yella collided on the first turn checking Apache Bro and Coco Spectre. Apache Bro checked off Coco Spectre approaching the home turn. King Royale shifted out, eased and collided several times with Dyna Yella approaching the home turn to the home turn; Dyna Yella was inconvienianced and both greyhounds raced wide as a result. Destini Comet tired over the concluding stages of the event. Hit Me Up and Zipping Lance raced wide in the home straight.
Destini Comet was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left quadriceps muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
King Royale was vetted following this race and after being re-vetted following race 11, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Brennan, the representative of the greyhound King Royale regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged King Royale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Brennan pleaded guilty to the charge. King Royale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
