Stewards spoke to Mrs P. Burns, the trainer of Buckle Up Tassie regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Buckle Up Tassie last raced on 11th May 201.Mrs Burns stated that the greyhound was returning from a spell for new trainer & kennels.

Cherokee Shimmer was quick to begin.  Charley's Octane was slow to begin.

A urine sample was taken from Whiney Whine this morning.

Mr T. Erenshaw, trainer of Flying Away declared a new weight of 27.1kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Flying Away last raced at 28.5kgs.

Whiney Whine was a late scratching at 5.40pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Flying Away went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (5 lengths).

Dreamliner checked off Crystal Shell approaching the first turn.  Why Not Becky and Crystal Shell collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn.  Dreamliner raced wide on the home turn.  Why Not Becky and Crystal Shell collided entering the home straight checking Crystal Shell and Flying Away.

Definitely Two crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Pacific Beach, Toss The Dice, Flying Rose and Miss Barossa.  Miss Barossa contacted the running rail approaching the first turn.  Mikado Boy and Definitely Two collided on the first turn.  Mikado Boy raced wide on the first turn checking Definitely Two.  Definitely Two checked off Mikado Boy entering the home straight.

Mr G. Condon, trainer of Roger Jay declared a new weight of 31.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Roger Jay last raced at 32.8kgs.

Sweet Sparkle and Touch Of Silk were quick to begin.

Roger Jay hit the running rail approaching the first turn and fell.  Flash Mikado checked off Sweet Sparkle on the first turn.

Roger Jay was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained fractures to the radius and humerus, and was humanely euthanised.

Mini Dozer was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left shin soreness, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr A. Helleren Senior, the representative of Flying Elite regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Flying Elite last raced on 6th April 2017. Mr Helleren stated that the greyhound was returning from an extended spell for various injuries.

Yangtze and Hollywood Nights were slow to begin.

Hollywood Nights hit the running rail on the first turn and lost ground.  Flying Elite and Yangtze collided on the first turn checking Flying Elite.  Yangtze and Mr. Pendles collided approaching the home turn.

Hollywood Nights was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left thigh injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr D. Hermon, the trainer of Lil Blackbook regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Lil Blackbook last raced on 25th May 2017.Mr Hermon stated that the greyhound was returning from a change of kennels and seasonal.

Riccarton and Lil Bit Awesome were quick to begin.  Sports Knight was slow to begin.
