A pre-race sample was taken from Jimmy's Angel.
Crazy Jo Jo was quick to begin. Philo Bale and Opalia Bale were slow to begin.
Philo Bale, Opalia Bale and Bumble Bee Bolto collided approaching the first turn. Bumble Bee Bolto, Tear Away Jock and Forever Merry collided on the first turn checking Tear Away Jock. Opalia Bale and Philo Bale collided on the first turn checking Philo Bale. Forever Merry checked off Bumble Bee Bolto approaching the home turn, stumbled and lost considerable ground.
Forever Merry was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right quadriceps and right pencil injuries and spike wounds to left and right hocks, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
