Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Agius, the trainer of Diamond Icon regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Diamond Icon last raced on 23/03/2018. Mr. Agius stated the greyhound was returning to racing following a seasonal spell.

Baby Houseman and Ninetymile Donny were slow to begin.  Diamond Icon was checked off All In approaching the first turn.  Baby Houseman and Happy Cruising collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Baby Houseman.  All In and Stealthy Flight collided on the first turn checking Stealthy Flight and Ninetymile Donny.  Stealthy Flight galloped on Acer on the first turn checking Stealthy Flight and Acer.

Is All and Mega McKayla were quick to begin.  Lil' Miss Willow was slow to begin.  Hurricane Dylan was checked off Is All on the first turn.  Hurricane Dylan and Happy Allen collided on the second turn checking Hurricane Dylan which lost considerable ground.  Hurricane Dylan and Dark Stealth collided approaching the home turn checking Hurricane Dylan.

Hurricane Dylan was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a split webbing on the left hind foot, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Little Freck, Mac Daddy and Eden Monaro were quick to begin.  Brandi Belle and Dr. Noely collided soon after the start.  Oriental Rhys was checked off Dr. Marshmellow on the first turn checking Brandi Belle and Dr. Noely.  Brandi Belle and Dr. Noely collided entering the back straight checking Dr. Noely.  Oriental Rhys and Brandi Belle collided on the second turn.

Little Bala, Dam Mega Quick and Good Old Days were slow to begin.  Trapezius was checked off Liberty Diamond on the first turn checking Trapezius, Misty's Boy and Dam Mega Quick.  Liberty Diamond and Prince Stealth collided on the first turn.  Trapezius clipped the heels of Prince Stealth in the back straight checking both greyhounds.

Pacific Action, Tarquin Bob, My Barcia and Shrek's Rusty were slow to begin.  My Barcia, Joyous Jill and Shrek's Rusty collided on the first turn.  Pacific Action crossed in on the first turn checking Tarquin Bob and severely checking Pacific Action causing Pacific Action to check off My Barcia severely checking My Barcia and Pacific Action.  Triceps Brachii and Shrek's Rusty collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Joyous Jill was checked off Tarquin Bob in the back straight.  Pacific Action and My Barcia collided several times in the home straight.

Special Member and Dr. Walter were slow to begin.  Special Member was checked off Busta Voe approaching the first turn.  Simply Mystic and Jimmy's Angel collided on the first turn checking Simply Mystic.  Penny Lane Keats and Baggy's Request collided in the back straight checking Penny Lane Keats and Dr. Walter.

Elswyk Max was quick to begin.  Dr. Diamontie, Lektra Damage and Blue Cat Wombat collided soon after the start.  In Dee Genes and Galloping Ashley collided approaching the first turn.  In Dee Genes, Galloping Ashley, Lektra Damage and Blue Cat Wombat collided on the first turn checking Galloping Ashley and Dr. Diamontie.  Elswyk Max and Dr. Watson collided approaching the winning post.

There was a delay in activating the green light then a further delay with the forward motion of the lure after the greyhounds were boxed.  Stewards spoke to Starter Mr. L. Sullivan who stated that he unknowingly turned the amber light to off instead of to green.  Stewards spoke to Judge Ms. P. Tabone who stated that when the amber light was inadvertently turned off the timer on the semaphore board was activated and needed to be re-set to enable the photo finish and timer equipment to function.  This resulted in a delay in the forward motion of the lure.

Stewards reminded Mr. Sullivan of his responsibilities and referred the matter to his Manager Mr. S. Clarke.

Rattle Gate was slow to begin.  Scorching Fella and Garrido collided soon after the start.  Dr. Kestrel and Spazzy Blue collided approaching the first turn.  Dr. Kestrel crossed out on the first turn checking Spazzy Blue and Rattle Gate.

Sheza Dragon and Tiger Cabang were quick to begin. Latissimus Dorsi was slow to begin.  Regal Memphis, Cruisy's Patch, Tiger Cabang and Shrek's Typhoon collided on the first turn checking Tiger Cabang.

Pursuant to LR 12.7, Ms A. Pizarro was stood down from catching after it was discovered her licence had expired.

Re-vetted greyhound - It's A Thrill was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of the meeting and was cleared to race.

Hello Nimble trialled over 315 metres from box 2, weight 30.8kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.56 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.25 lengths.  Hello Nimble was cleared.

Got Some Zip trialled over 315 metres from box 6, weight 30.8kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.39 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5 lengths .  Got Some Zip was cleared.

Go Maxi trialled over 315 metres from box 6, weight 22.9kg , the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.56 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6.75 lengths.  Go Maxi was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. O McGovern the representative of Enhanced Power regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Enhanced Power last competed (qualifying trial) on 12/10/17.  Mr. McGovern stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel. Enhanced Power trialled over 315 metres from box 8, weight 33.1kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.56 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3 lengths.  Enhanced Power was cleared

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Tilley the trainer of Oamaru Wonder regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Oamaru Wonder last raced on 06/11/17.  Mr. Tilley stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel and a right hind leg injury. Oamaru Wonder trialled over 315 metres from box 4, weight 30.5kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.39 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 5 lengths.  Oamaru Wonder was cleared
