Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr R.Coleman, the trainer of Slingshot Blitz regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Slingshot Blitz last raced on 18 March, 2018. Mr Coleman stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a change of kennels.
Carson County and Bomber's Baby collided soon after the start. All Inn Taylor and Salute The Judge collided approaching the first turn. Deep Creek Girl, All Inn Taylor, Bomber's baby and Carson County collided approaching the first turn checking Bomber's Baby. Flying Apollo and Slingshot Blitz collided on the first turn severely checking Slingshot Blitz. Carson County contacted the running rail on the home turn. Bomber's Baby contacted the running rail entering the home straight and tailed off.
Carson County was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising to the trunk. A stand down period of 3 days was imposed.
Bomber's baby was vetted and re-vetted following event 12. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound and injuries to the left shoulder and groin. A stand down period of 21 days was imposed.
