Southwood Ace was slow to begin.
Hey Duggee, Full Of Weetbix and Southwood Ace collided approaching the first turn. Uringa, Royal Solo and Wok Fried Yabby collided on the first turn. Southwood Ace and Hey Duggee collided approaching the second turn. Uringa, Royal Solo and Wok Fried Yabby collided on the second turn checking Royal Solo. Uringa and Wok Fried Yabby collided approaching the home turn. Kraken Pace and Full Of Weetbix collided on the home turn. Full Off Weetbix and Kraken Pace collided entering the home straight. Kraken Pace and Full Of Weetbix collided in the home straight checking Full Of Weetbix.
Full Of Weetbix was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right hind leg. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.
A sample was taken from Johnny Wishbone, winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Ms. B. Breen regarding Weetbix Mini's manners entering the home straight. Ms. Breen stated that the greyhound was trying to race wide whilst Kraken Pace was trying to take the inside run. Stewards noted Ms. Breen's explanation and took no further action.
